Road Closures in Haverford Township for the 2013 U.S. Open at Merion Golf Club

The U.S. Open is upon us ! It is certainly exciting to see a major sporting event come to our very own Merion Golf Club. However, with all the excitement and an influx of spectators for the sport, Haverford Township has issued a notice to it's residents about road closures that will effect local traffic patterns. I felt that I would let all of my Facebook followers know of the closures in case you do not live in Havertown but are coming out to see the tournament or travel through the area.

Green is the new black, or at least a prominent trend in home ownership. While it may seem like a huge expensive hassel to attach solar power panels to your roof, there are other very simple ways to go a little greener. As I was looking through google and list after list of environmentally friendly home changes I found a lot of common themes. Most of these themes are so simple that it's a little ridiculous how much of a difference they can make ! Check out this link from MSN.com. 5 Inexpensive ways to improve the chances of selling your home.


1.) Curb Appeal : Clean up the outside of your home with a good power washing. You do not have to spend and arm and a leg to re-paint. Consider adding some flowering plants on your porch (if you have one). Break out the elbow grease and the windex ! Clean up your windows. A lot of people appreciate natural light in their home and grimey windows will block it out, making a room seem darker. 
2.)  De-personalize a little :  While you may love that collection of ceramic roosters in your kitchen, a potential buyer may not be such a fan. The goal here is to appeal to the buyers ability to make your old house their future home....

EPA gives Havertown Residents thumbs up!

According to the article in the Daily Local, the EPA completed its reporting on the concern of toxic gases seeping from the superfund site found off Eagle and Hillcrest Roads.  Both the EPA and Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry reviewed the reports and found that their were no contaminates in the 10 homes tested.  Good News!
