What Buyers Want:
It finally feels like spring, and according to MSN.com one of the best improvements you can make to your home (the kind of improvement that will entice a potential buyer) is central air.
MSN polled recent buyers and found the common themes that the buyers valued when they saw a home. The top draws that they mentioned were central air, new kitchen appliances, walk-in closet and a master bedroom. Agreeing with MSN, CBS News also counted air conditioning and walk-in closets as their top two most important features followed closely by cable/internet readiness.
Avidbuilder.com, a reputable builders/real estate website notes that walk in closets and energy efficient appliances top their list for must have features as well. Avidbuilder includes fans and energy efficient windows at two more of their top 10 features.
So for people who are selling their home or people who are considering selling their home, it seems that buyers in today's market are looking for efficiency and comfort. CBS reports that potential buyers would be willing to pay extra for the above mentioned amenities. It may be worth it to look into these features and discuss the cost/benefit of making a few adjustments to your home to keep your listing price at the level you would like.
